Family Office CEO Compensation

The Swiss Single Family Office Association has released a 2024 survey of executive compensation for Swiss SFOs. Authored by Dr. Stephan Hostettler and Dr. Kurt Moosman, the report provides insight into the base and total compensation for Swiss SFO CEOs and other executives.

What surprised me was the lower median compensation for Swiss CEOs versus their US counterparts, as reported in the 2023 Botoff & Morgan Stanley family office compensation report. Before having access to this SFOA report, I would have thought it was the other way round, with Swiss CEOs earning more than their US counterparts.

Admittedly, the sample size for each report was very different with SFOA respondents of 28 SFOs versus 406 SFOs responding to the Botoff & Morgan Stanley survey. Nevertheless, even with the different survey data gathering time frames and the need to translate CHF to USD, it is an interesting comparison.
